A class of children and their teacher were on a field trip and found themselves in a field when a rain shower quickly came over the mountains. They ran to a small shelter to wait for the rain to stop. As quickly as it came, it blew away leaving the air fresh and fragrant. The teacher looked to the mountains from which the storm came and spotted a beautiful rainbow. Believing this a teachable moment, she explained about light refraction and how rainbows are formed. When she was finished, one keiki said, “Oh, that’s all it is.” The teacher had innocently taken the wonder out of the rainbow for that one child. Today, let’s leave the wonder in life and leave some things as unexplained treasures.
