Anuhea means a cool, refreshing breeze. Who has not enjoyed such a treat on a hot day? I think it can mean much more, though. I see it as a goal of relationships. When others meet us, are they refreshed with anuhea? Do we bring a cool breeze to others’ parched, dry lives? It means becoming others-centered as we walk our own journey. Do we see faces in crowds? Do we stop long enough to refresh another?
It is this attitude behind the value of HO‘OKIPA.
The value of hospitality, a hospitality of complete giving.
Welcome guests and strangers with your spirit of Aloha.
Complete giving, welcoming to all we meet. It is Aloha in action. May we become a cool, refreshing breeze to those we meet this day.
