Waiting

So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. (Isaiah 30:18)

Why am I so slow to run to my Lord? Why does He have to wait time after time for me? What do I forfeit when I refuse to come?

He longs to show me His love and compassion. The Hebrew word wait can also mean long for. The terms are interchangeable. He not only waits for me to come but longs for me to come so that He can show me His love and compassion. Why would I delay coming to my faithful Friend?

I am blessed when I long for and wait for His help. In the waiting is His loving, compassionate blessing.

Why am I so slow to run to my Lord?
