Arrogance

…then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness. – Isaiah 16:5

Against the pride of Moab God judges. Their wealth, prestige, influence and strength lies in ruins. The people suffer great loss to the point of few and feeble.

Arrogance is such a terrible thing. It has no place in a believer’s heart. If not addressed through repentance God will deal with it through his judgment. All supporting structures will be crushed to powder. All we will have will be him.  Can there be a more gracious act of God?

Lord, against everything that obstructs you work in my life, convict me. Whatever challenges your glory, deal with it.
