Tuning the instrument today

The LORD will save me, and we will play my music on stringed instruments all the days of our lives, at the house of the LORD. – Isaiah 38:20

There is a day when the Lord will reveal his intricate plan and on that day I will marvel. Looking back is good. Recalling God’s faithfulness is invaluable. But, I want to tune my instrument by faith today, today where uncertainties live. I want my instrument ready when the Great Conductor raises his baton.

And, today, I want to practice his song. I want to master every note and rest. True, I will only hear my piece but one day I’ll hear all the instruments come together. His glorious song, his amazing story will be played and heard for the first time. I want to be ready.

Biwa – The biwa is a Japanese short-necked fretted lute, often used in narrative storytelling.
